Project 365: Day 21
This was the view from the computer room window because it was too cold for me to go outside.
I just love moon shots. This one saved me from another night of suddenly realizing that I have yet to take my daily photo. Else you might have been viewing a photo of my nightstand. Or my inhaler.

Wow, I'd never guess this was a spur of the moment photo or that it was taken from inside a computer room. I like the barren trees in the foreground. Excellent work!

Thanks, Rosanne. I actually wasn't too happy with the trees because I'm getting tired of them. They're all I see when I look out front, so I have tons of sunrise and sunset and moon shots with those same trees in the frame. I just tell myself to try and find more interesting angles with which to use them in the photo.
Quad, Jcgr, thanks for viewing!

Beautiful--just the kind of photo I always dreamed of taking of the moon! You lucky duck! I am trying to decide between buying the S5 IS and the G9 and am torn because of the type of batteries the S5 uses. Do you find it problematic to use AA batteries? Would you buy this camera again? I appreciate your input..,.thanks Blaise nytawk@aol.com

Boco, thanks. I really highly recommend the S5. I've had absolutely no problems using my S5 with my old (circa 2001) rechargeable batteries. In fact, I've very happy with the battery life. If I load a fresh set in the morning, I can use it all day - with flash, and including some video recording thrown in there - without worrying about running out of juice. I would definitely buy the camera again. I especially love it for macro shots and for moon shots. The only chance I'd replace it is if I decide to get a DSLR. And even then, I'd still keep it as backup or as my travel camera. Because sometimes, I just may not be up to lugging around a 400mm lens. :)

Wow. Great shot! I am so photography challenged but you inspire me. I have the S3 IS hoping to learn to use settings other than auto.
ivoryhut 57 months ago | reply
Thanks, Sarv. Leslie, just take the leap into non-auto settings, and you'll get the hang of it. And when you do, you'll never go back to auto again. :) (Hmm ... that sounded kinda sinister ...)
