Very striking -- well seen and beautifully captured! I love the way the bright foreground gracefully shades into the subtler hues of the distant hills.

Definitely not my Utah mountains! But I love the dry field against the green tree tops on the other hill side. I have no other choice, but to fave it!

Am I the only one who'd like some more detail in the middle distance? I mean the 'green bit' with the trees and hills.

The sky and the foreground are really nice but I feel the above mentioned 'layer' lets the image down somewhat.

I see many layers and the depth is exceptional - especially when viewed large. The middle part with the greens and trees is my favorite part - much lovely textures and rich colors. The dramatic color and shadows are very moody - I love it.

Yeah, I was thinking in similar terms, but at the point where I stood (and I was even standing on a high rock), I'd have to be high in the air to get more details in the middle ground, so I decided to make an image about the tree and the skies.

Ivan, a famous Dominican baseball player was once asked how he liked his career so far. His response, which has been repeated, paraphrased, and spoofed many times over, was, "beisbol has been very, very good to me."

So to paraphrase even further, it seems that leaving Project 365 has been very, very good to you. Rather than letting your photostream die on the vine, so to speak, you've been birthing one work of art after another. Now I really see what you meant about wanting to take the time to do things at your own pace, rather than being pressured to produce something -- anything -- daily, even if you weren't satisfied with it. I can definitely respect where you're coming from, considering how, to use another baseball reference, you've been hitting each one right out of the park! :)

This is indeed a visual feast for the eyes, and it seems that your new LAB quest (hey, those are my initials, too!) is paying off more and more dividends with each new post. I'm in awe.

Lou - you're absolutely right. My creativity doesn't work very well when it's under pressure, but when it does work, I find myself getting several good shots that still require time to process them later. This way I can process them whenever I feel like it versus doing it every day. I certainly admire that you and others still take picture a day, but for me it turned into a burden. Perhaps I'll do the project again in the future, but not this time. But at any rate, yes, Flickr has been vvvery gud to me.

As landscape photos go, it doesn't get much better than this. The blue of the skies contrasts perfectly with the green hills and the wheat-colored fields.
