Unlawful

Unlawful by It'sGreg.
While I was searching for this 1940s-era fountain pen to use in the Iron Photographer project, I discovered some of my old private detective licenses. In the same place, I found this key from one of my more dodgy cases.

It was probably unlawful to "liberate" the key too. But at least I didn't duplicate it.

So, you hid the contents of the safe deposit box to recover when the statute of limitations runs out?

Nice shot.

the composition is good. and i like that the items all seem to be in the same color range, almost making this seem like it's a b&w.

as for the unlawfulness, i think that whoever issued the key would be okay with you still having it if they ever saw this awesome photo featuring it!! great job!

Thanks everybody.

Meera - it was a wee bit alarming to see the difference between the photos on my first PI license and the last. There's an unfortunate Dorian Gray quality to them.

Holly - I'm afraid the folks who issued the key didn't issue it to me and they had no idea I had it. In the long run it probably worked out to their benefit, though in the short term they weren't very pleased.

Bella - I think I'd rather have an interesting future than an interesting past.

Mark & Pam - there were SO many things to obscure. If I'd obscured them all, there wouldn't be anything to see. I would have liked to include the weight, though, to prove to people that I was once a trim 145 pounds.

Rachel - the pen was the original point of the photo. I just got side-tracked by the old detective stuff. But I wasn't about to give up that pen. I may have to use it again for another IP photo.

Archer - 12/9 explains everything? How distressing. Do I dare ask what it explains (so I can obscure it in the future, if need be)?

Thanks everybody for the rather startling response. I suppose this is evidence that crime does pay (not that I'm admitting to anything criminal, you understand; I'm talking rhetorically here).

And thanks for the invitations. I'm sorry to say, though, that I find it difficult enough to participate in the groups I already belong to...so I'm afraid I'll have to decline. But I very much appreciate the thought.

Alas, not only have you inspired me to take my writing to the next level, I have just learned you have graced this fine state with your presence. I am still working in what I call the " wtf" field,..so I can't post my pic yet...but it gives me endless material for my writing, unfortunately my sense of humor has become more than slightly twisted as well....not always appreciated, or appropriate. I am enjoying your stream and your blog.
