Environmental Lettering; Typography Project: Censored 1

Environmental Lettering; Typography Project: Censored 1

Censorship Of Expression:
In this photograph, the word “censored” is used to express how the three main senses of communication are being censored. It seems like everything we see, hear, or speak of must be censored. This photograph is meant to show that there is truly no way of completely expressing anything through music, visuals, or words..etc because at the end of it, when expressing you must express with respect to what others might think. After all not everything can be accepted in the public society. It just feels like there is no way to fully express with complete freedom, you must always “watch it” which may end up in an inner explosion.

Environmental Lettering; Typography Project: Arabic Word Choice: Not By Measurement

Environmental Lettering; Typography Project: Arabic Word Choice: Not By Measurement

Weakness or strength? :
The Arabic word here means “Not By Measurement “ stuck on a mans muscle with a measuring tape points out the misunderstanding of masculine strength. It seems that most men understand the idea of being strong or being a hero means working on having the biggest muscles. But masculinity and a man’s strength is not only by how big your muscles are. Its not the outside size of things, it’s the inner power within things. I think this is a point that young men should consider before they start taking steroids, energy portions or dedicating long hours to the gym. Someone may look big and tough, but they may be weak, scared and irresponsible on the inside, and that is not strength at all.

Environmental Lettering; Typography Project: See 1

Eyes Wide Shut:
The word “see” in this photograph expresses a lot when trying to relate it to the the whole picture. The model’s eyes are shut, but her eyelids have an illustration of wide opened eyes, the word “see” is placed on her fingers while she is saluting the viewer. This means that even though her eyes are shut, she can still see you. Hypothetically; she is not afraid of what you might do behind her back, so she solutes you. Its like saying “go ahead and do something behind my back, if you think I’m blind, I can still see you, I’m smart enough to figure it out even with my eyes shut.”
