(1) As a part of the ITF's Action Week
(Organising Globally - Building Union
Power), unionists from Austria, Belgium,
Czech Republic, Estonia, France,
Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the
Netherlands, Spain and Sweden together
with the ITF and ETF representatives
have gathered in Brussels for the
European rally on 15 October near the
European Parliament. There, they wore
the "Free Osanloo!" badge to
express solidarity with the Iranian
workers. 200 participants then held a
protest rally in front of the Iranian
Embassy. They requested to submit a
letter to the Ambassador but was refused
to meet with anyone from the Mission.
(2) Similarly, the ITF Thai
Coordinating Committee has utilized the
Action Week to campaign for immediate
release of Mansour Osanloo and Ebrahim
Madadi. A special exhibition was
organised in Bangkok, together with a
demonstration by the transport unions.
Mahendra Sharma, ITF Delhi Office and
Masa Takahashi, JRU, Japan were guests
to the occasion.
(3) In Vienna, bus drivers working for
the Airport Lines wore the badge and the
campaign poster was placed at the ticket
office.
(4) Unions in Norway have began to
distribute the badge from 16 October and
on the following day, 10,000 bus workers
wore the badge at work! So did the
workers in Hong Kong, Australia,
Honduras and Pakistan joined this
campaign.
5) The badge wearers with the hand
coloured cards are London human rights
supporters at Amnesty International
sending the message "Get Well Soon
Mansour" following his eye
operation
6) The ITUC meeting on Middle East and
North Africa discussed questions on Iran
and the badges were distributed to the
participants.
7) Members of the ITF Dockers' Section
Committee meeting in London on 15
November 2007 wore the "Free
Osanloo" badge in solidarity with
workers in Iran.
8) Some Workers' Group delegates and
members of GUF wore the badge during the
ILO Governing Body meeting in
mid-November.
9) The ITF has organised film shows in
North Africa and Australia where rail
unionists from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco
and Tunisia took part. In Hobart,
Tasmania, delegates to the RTBU
conference adopted a solidarity
resoultion and wore the badge. A film
show was also organised in Melbourne and
Sydney.
