Five houses of Einstein

I was reading "The Houdini Solution"; there's a puzzle all the way at the end. Einstein supposedly came up with it.

There are 5 houses of 5 different colors with owners of 5 different nationalities. Each owns a different kind of pet, prefers a different kind of drink and smokes a different brand of cigar. The question was, who owns fish? It took me a lot of scribbling to figure it out.

* The Swede has a dog
* The Dane likes tea
* The green house is next to the white one
* The person in the green house likes coffee
* The person who smokes Pall Mall has birds
* The person in the yellow house smokes DUnhill
* The person in the middle house likes milk
* The Norwegian lives in the first house
* The person who smokes Blend lives next to the one who owns cats
* The person who owns horses lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill
* The person who smokes Blue Master likes beer
* The German smokes Prince
* The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
* The person who smokes Blend lives next to the one who drinks water
