wrreyes, yep, they look like that. not all of them though. for example stellamaria gave link on some hairy ones. we don't have them here, but seems they're chestnuts too:)

.daliah., thank you! i love them too! and in spring i like to see their blossom.

stellamaria, wow! never seen such hairy chestnuts! and during december till february it's winter here in russia, so all of them are in deep sleep. in autumn they drop their leaves and nuts and stand absolutely naked.
