They Love a Parade! |
Young Irish athletes from through the U.S., Canada, the UK and Ireland marched through the streets of West Chester Thursday night as part of the kick-off parade in honor of the Continental Youth Championships. For some, it all began before the sun rose as they boarded buses in Canada. For others, the trip to the Philly area began yesterday on a long flight from Dublin. Tired? Yeah, some of them would grudgingly admit it ... and kids don't like to admit they're tired. But they pulled it all together for one spirited march down West Chester's Gay Street, escorted by pipe bands from throughout the Delaware Valley. The serious work begins Friday, as the games begin.
