Many thanks for your comment. Ah! So that's how you knew about this plane. You've worked on it. Yes it was a lovely plane although there were no TV screens visible on our flight. I assumed they weren't fitted but I now know different.

We flew out to Faro on this and back on G-TTIA (another ex-GB plane) which seemed a bit of a bone-shaker compared to this, even though it's only 6 years old. Missing paint on the wings, worn seats and dirty windows made it appear a lot older. That said we were delighted when the we got to cruising altitide and the screens appeared - definitely a novelty on Easyjet! Anyone flying EZY for the first time would have been rather spoilt!
Our plane.. so new that it wasn't painted!

G-TTIA is definitely showing its age - yellowing walls, call bells that go on and off randomly, IFE that mysteriously resets itself. It'll be going to Monarch quite soon though.

G-TTIG has the benefit of the enhanced cabin with bigger lockers, better lighting and so on.

The IFE screens are on all the ex-GB aircraft but aren't technically meant to be used on flights like Faro where the screen-less regular easyJet fleet also flies.

That's really interesting info. I used to always fly BA (GB Airways) to Faro but decided it might be nice to go on Easyjet as they have such new planes so we were rather disappointed with G-TTIA. It's good news that it's going to another carrier soon. I took a few photos of it but didn't post them publicly as I wasn't sure they would be of interest to my contacts. I'll make myself a note never to fly with Monarch. (PS. I just looked up the age of their fleet... they're old!!)

G-TTIG looks like a super aircraft. I hope they keep that one on the Faro route. It's a shame if they don't operate the TV screens on the aircraft that have them but I guess it could lead to other passengers feeling upset that they didn't have such perks. It was a very rare sight...
IFE Screens on Easyjet - not a common sight!
