Carrigafoyle Castle

Carrigafoyle Castle was thought to be impenetrable. However, legend has it that a castle maid was lovesick for an opposition soldier. She put a candle in the window to mark the castle's weakest point, and thus the wall was bombarded with cannon fire and finally gave way. Co Limerick, Ireland
