mutagenesis

mutagenesis by irene_c_wang.
This is 1 of 12 in a series on protein engineering. These are illustrations I made in high school for a senior project presentation combining art & biotechnology. I spent a year interning in a biochemistry lab at KU Medical Center.

Here, I've depicted the process of making "mutant" versions of DNA by altering original/template plasmids. The plasmid DNA we used was circular. After the mutant plasmid is made, a DpnI digestion cycle is used to break apart the original plasmids.
