Amazing shot; eye seems to be a globe and a crater all at once.

It reminds me of an old Dali photograph of an eye... It too had a sense of an alien world. What an awesome eye!

  20. Derby City (Rachel Pace) (97 months ago | reply)

The eye is very interesting in of itself. The reflection is a whole other study! Thanks!

  21. ziz (97 months ago | reply)

can you give us a bit more tech detail on how you achieved this shot? it's super.

  22. io2 (97 months ago | reply)

wow to all of you for your reactions. tech detail is minimal: a point and shoot digital camera on macro, taken in evening light as i faced away from the sun. i cropped the resulting photo tightly, and in a cut-down version of photoshop added minimal sharpening and a tad more colour saturation. and all because i felt like changing my flickr icon. to recap: the eye is mine; the reflected vine shoots happen to be where i got the idea to shoot some close-up shots of my eye; minor software tweaks; the photo god smiling down on me.

Happy to oblige, Fluidimage. I'm unlikely to top this photo -- the best I can hope for is to equal it with a shot of the other eye!

I suppose I could take a photo of the other eye... or start a series, the world through my eye... Check back in future fluidimage, your request might turn out to be a trigger.
