The Wailing Lady![]() Location: Old Jerusalem
Camera: Olympus D-SLR E-500 2007. It always hurts me to see this photograph. One place I can’t forget when I traveled to Israel last December is this place: The Wailing Wall. The Wailing Wall is also known as The Western Wall, it is the remains of the Temple that was built I think by Herod in 19BC. It is a great wonder, especially in the way it was built; and is now a holy site for Jews. The thing is this: at the entrance there was a writing: “No begging allowed”. But when you passed through the streets, there were endless beggars there and it really breaks my heart to see them. This lady was one of them. The Wailing Wall for me is a very sad place, mostly because for myself, I am a Christian, and I believe that Christ is the Messiah and He has come. But for the Jews, the Messiah is not here yet and they are praying for His coming at this site.
