Ashley Langston, an Elm City resident and a first lieutenant in the Army, was deployed to Afghanistan the week of Sept. 11. Family members received more than 150 people wanting to say goodbye and wish her well. They all participated in a ribbon project through the Prepare New York interfaith coalition.
