Ikebana flower arrangement featuring Okinawan sakura

Okinawan Fruit Bat

Okinawan Fruit Bat

Fruit bats or "flying foxes" are herbivores and harmless to humans. I got this series of shots as night was falling in Sueyoshi Park near Shuri, as a bat started preparing for a night of foraging. Keep in mind that he's hanging upside down from the branches about 40-50 feet above me. Both my zoom lens and my flash were stretched to their limits.
