youth make up a large enough percentage
of the population. Behind such big
numbers lies a lot of power and
influence in determining the political
direction in our countries. Today’s
youth are leaders of tomorrow.
Increasingly, the youth are looking for
a voice in the way they are governed.
From holding Democracy Camps in
Kyrgyzstan to sponsoring a Skype-based
debate between students in the U.S. and
Afghanistan, IFES works to engage
youth-based activism and encourage
participation in elections.

Canadian university students held vote
mobs to encourage their peers to
participate in the upcoming election.

Presidential Election in Uganda. Like
many developing countries, Uganda's
population of largely composed of young
