Hensall Signal Box 1875 L&YR & LNER Gates.
Here we see pretty much all the main buildings that are present at Hensall, Hensall is a rare survivor on the L&YR Goole to Leeds via Pontefract Line as every other station has been completely stripped down to the bare platform and had a bus shelter put on it! Hensall still has its station building, waiting room, signal box and manually operated NER gates. The station is a Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Station and in it's later years was operated by the LMS as well as the LNER just before nationalization, hence the LNER automatic gates which only Hensall and Castleford Cutsyke Junction Crossing Box still have. It gets better when you step inside though, the box still uses absolute block between Hensall and Goole, as well as having an automatic signal delay for when steam engines ruled the rails!
