    Voila! Old Fashioned Marmalade, in a stylish Weck jar! The marmalade was Minneola tangelos with additions of rye, figgy-orange bitters, and whole vanilla bean, and ended up as delicious as it is beautiful.

      Thanks! And I agree about the citrus/vanilla combo. (It does always make me laugh a little, too, because I read some personal essay somewhere in which the writer was laughing at her boyfriend's habit of mixing vanilla into orange juice. It's stuck out in my mind for years how she described him forcing all his friends to try it and then exclaiming, "Taste the smoothness!" Now every time I have a citrus/vanilla pairing, I want to add a little, "Taste the smoothness!")

      I can just imagine how wonderful this is. My favourite shampoo ever is an expensive, all-natural shampoo that had an orange-vanilla scent. The trouble was, since it was natural, I needed 3x the normal amount of shampoo to do the job. Marvelous scent, completely impractical. Vanilla in orange juice sounds like the best idea ever!

      Oh man, I hate that about natural shampoo! I used to buy one that I really liked for its scent, and I felt so wholesome using it, but it just would not clean my hair. Hmph. Stupid natural shampoos!
