Upper tabs myth

Upper tabs myth by intemperie.
The proof that you don't actually win a single pixel of space with the upper tabs on Google Chrome. The Safari 4 Beta had a real approach on this, but unfortunately the usability problem of not having a dragabble area for moving the tabs could be the cause of their oppinion change. Also check this review with some other interesting points.

BTW, upper tabs are not propietary of Google. Opera 9 already had them, like many other remarkable browser innovations.

Chrome is light and fast, but I also think it still has a long way to go.

I don't mind the look of upper tabs, but the title of the page gets cut off when you have a few tabs which is a big fail!

Do you really use the title of the page that much while you're surfing? As for me it's not important.

Nice info. I wish  enables the upper tabs as an option someday (or maybe as a Terminal command). It's very handy to use...

Yea, definitely. I usually have quite a few tabs open, and when using the Safari 4 beta with tabs on top it was near impossible to see what what web sites the tabs were for :-/
