an Easter inflection

an Easter inflection by IntangibleArts.
Easter Sunday at the new Target store in Columbia Heights, Washington DC: it closed early today, no doubt in humble reverence of the symbolic date of Christ's ascention to Heaven.

We didn't realize the store would be closed, so we arrived to see the shopping-carts wandering outside the locked doors, in a daze. Wondering what to do now....where to go... Nobody is here. Nobody is pushing us around, stuffing toasters and tube-socks and bulk boxes of chicken corn-dogs inside our gaping mouths... whatever shall we DO?

... they stir nervously, waiting for....something. They know nothing of this "ascended christ" though they have heard of an "easter bunny" but have yet to see it, or to thrill in its healing touch...

Nice photo! Yeah, I walked by all the sad shoppers on the outside looking in that day. Next year I predict it will probably be open every day except Christmas.
