Schiff nach Europa –– Markus Kutter/Karl Gerstner 1957
Possibly one of the rarest books that I currently own. Written by Kutter and 'visually organised' by karl Gerstner.

Nice! There was a copy of this book on bookfinder.com a few months ago. I wanted to buy it but, it was super expensive.

Joe, just out of interest how much did you see it for? I have been thinking about selling this copy and haven't really seen any others for sale to get an idea of value.

I think it was $700-$800.
and there was one on ebay about 6 months ago that went for $450.

The quintessential example of Swiss typography. It blows most current work away – and it was produced with analogue means 40+ years ago. Time has aged it beautifully.

Well done, a rare find. I will be uploading Armin Hofmann's and Wolfgang Weingart's Design Quarterly #130 magazine this week, check it out.

I sold this copy last year on ebay, went for about £150 in the end if I remember rightly. Kind of wish I had kept hold of it, but it did mean I could afford to buy a couple of others I had wanted for a while. I made a fair bit on it because I originally paid about £30 for it.
