Principles
browser becomes the operating system
web applications to work with
web sites to read

minimalistic interface
maximum view of the web
minimum of distraction

Fitts's Law
always visible – site does not get shifted
easily & fast reachable

horizontal space is less valuable than vertical
shorter line-lengths are more readable
less scrolling

I do not use
tree structure
sites interlink
topics mix

grouping by site
more clicks to reach
not necessarily same topic

Elements
important
favicon – acting as page identity
page title – further info

less important
close tab button – only needed on hover, title can be longer

useless
thumbnail of page – content not visible, favicon is much better

Almost forgot
Services and tabs should run as independent processes, such as in Google Chrome!
