fabulous! And good post timing too - The building has just recently been reborn as Condos. That building (1600 Broadway @ 48th Street & Broadway) originally was called the Studebaker Building when built in 1902 and it housed not only the Studebaker Brothers vehicles showrooms, but the Universal Film and Manufacturing Company, later to become Universal Pictures - the building changed names to Mecca about 1910 when it changed owners. It changed owners again in 1920 and opened up the 'Palais de Dance' restaurant and music hall on the first few floors. Billy Wilder lived in the building as well at that time. The main spaces housed over time, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Odditorium, Howard Clothes and Tony Roma's A Place for Ribs.
