I still don't see the appeal to this type of suburban design.

What does it offer other than a roof over one's head?

Do the residents interact with each other or does the anonymity prevail?

What does it say about our culture?

Does it do anything to inspire anybody?

Can this really be thought of as a "community?"

As an actual person living in the California suburbs, I believe people who appeal to the clean cut shape of the house with filmy plastic blinds and reddish roofs; phosphorescent green grass freshly mowed by a landscaper is quite shallow. I plan to move out of the suburbs once I get the money. I want more edge to my life. I actually stepped out to get the paper this morning and saw a plastic flamingo on the lawn of the house across the street. WTF.
