Dublin Docklands - Get On Your Bike

Dublin Docklands - Get On Your Bike by infomatique.
Dublin Docklands is the area of the city of Dublin, Ireland, on both sides of the River Liffey, roughly from Talbot Memorial Bridge eastwards to The O2 (Dublin). It is currently undergoing a large amount of development.

Some projects under construction/planned are:

Spencer Dock, This development is said to be the biggest and most ambitious urban regeneration project in Ireland's history and is planned to include waterside apartments, offices, retail space, a linear park and local amenities for leisure activities.

Spencer Dock is served by the new Docklands railway station temporarily located on Sheriff Street at the north end of the site which commenced commuter services on the Western Commuter line in March 2007. Under the Transport 21 initiative, due for completion by 2015, the station will move to a permanent location in Spencer Dock itself and connect to the DART network via the Interconnector tunnel and to the extended LUAS red-line.
The new National Conference Centre will also be located in Spencer Dock.

Point Village, a redevelopment beside The Point Depot, it is intended to house a 120m tower, a hotel, a shopping centre, 13,000 m² of office space, a 3-story underground car park, a 12-screen cinema a "U2 Experience" Museum and more.

Grand Canal Dock, an area in Ringsend which is currently undergoing redevelopment with such projects as Alto Vetro, Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Theatre and more.

That's now not happening.

The overground is now due to be kept, and the underground station is due to still be built as past of the Interconnector. The underground station will only handle Interconnector services, ie electric Dart trains, while the overground station can continue to take diesel 'Commuter' branded trains.
