The Dan stream is the longest and most important of three sources of the Jordan river. Spring water is plentiful year-round, fed by the rain and snow that fall on Mt. Hermon. On Tel Dan, rising above the springs, remnants of great walls and gates of Biblical Dan were concovered, as well as sites of worship from the days of the Israelite Kingdom.
