Asteroid 2012 DA14 . .

Asteroid 2012 DA14 . .

. . fly by or "Ghosts in the Machine".

Actually, tho' I've been checking in, (invisibly; have left very few faves, comments), I've missed Flickr, but my 3 kids are older, rightly more demanding of my time yet free time somehow seems less, and all the modern mobile smart technology that's supposed to free you up and give more leisure time seems ever and ever to consume you in being tied to desktops, laptops, ios, emails and prompt response requirements, apps . . . and when does it all end!??

Oh well.

Just a post to let you know, I'm still here, you're still there, and I still do look, and many have migrated to Google+, and all the other media, while others, like me, have succombed to trying to juggle time for all that one wants to do.

Cheers y'all.

The hut . .

The hut . .

. . on fowl's legs.

Baba Yaga or Baba Roga (also known by various other names) is a being in Russian folklore, usually portrayed as an old hag who flies through the air, rather like the western perception of a witch on a broom.

She supposedly lived in a log cabin built on chicken legs, with no windows and no doors. Apparently Baba Yaga used the chimney to fly in and out of her home.

The tale is commemorated in a suite of 10 movements, Pictures at an Exhibition, composed in 1874 by Mussorgsky, and is its penultimate movement. a suite for piano.

One ring to rule them all . . .

One ring to rule them all . . .

. . . and in the darkness bind them.

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

The "One Ring" is a fictional artefact which is the central plot element in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth fantasy novels, first described in the Hobbit.

A person wearing the Ring would enter a shadowy world revealing the physical world from a different aspect, and from which physical objects were harder to see.
