I first met these two lunatics when I was invited to a dinner get together by a mutual friend about two years ago. We didn't actually talk during dinner as it's a loooooong table dinner and they were sitting at the other end. and then i met these two divers again in Tioman Island, Malaysia. I joined a trip organized by a dive center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and we were put in one quad sharing room with my buddy. I still didn't talk to them at first until the 2nd night we were there, when we started to gossip about another girl on board (bad .. i know.. but isn't gossiping soooooooo much fun? heheh lol) .. they turned out to be great people to hang out with.

these ladies are really best of friends. i believe they started their friendship over an adventure race (a local version of the amazing race.. only perhaps much easier) a couple of years ago. they sent an audition tape last year to the amazing race asia, but didn't make the cut. they'd probably make a lousy team because carmen is stubborn, and lyla is hard-headed... wait a minute .. don't they mean the same? hehehe.. they'll quarrel sometimes, and usually one of them will give in, and make faces which makes them all too cute to watch on tv. perhaps there's another call for the amazing race asia soon and hopefully next time they'll make it all the way.

we had a few dive trips (and road trips) together and I look forward to diving together again soon. i took this photo when they were at my house recently for a small get-together for some friends of mine.
