Just stumbled on this.

I'd have to say I'm not sure about any of these as I think they are all logos owned by Yorkshire Forward and recognisable as such:

#1 #3 #4 Are all from the Yorkshire - Alive with opportunity campaign.

#2 Is YF's own logo.

The idea of a rose is good though.

Anyway, to show I'm not just commenting here to moan but to try and help, here are another couple of quick logo ideas if they are of any use to anyone...

Went for blue & yellow as I think it's easily recognised as Leeds due to the sports teams (though I'm a not a Leeds supporter myself)

I thought about using the team's colours but wasn't sure if they were closely associated with the City...however I can't endorse any image of the University...everyone knows Leeds Met is the city's *real* uni ;)

I'm not sure Leeds has a definitive colour, the council website is a murky blue-green at the moment, purple was used for "Leeds Live It Love It" and "Celebrate Leeds 2007" is red and yellow, it's very confusing!

I thought the Evening Post was also blue and yellow but they appear to have dropped any yellow from the website.
