Smuggling Daydreams into Reality: Dreams Networked and Shared |
What daydream of yours would you like to
see become reality? What dream has come
true? Visitors to the exhibition
Smuggling Daydreams into Reality:
Yesterday, Today and Forever can
contribute a response to these questions
to a network of shared dreams. Each
week, we’ll scan the cards that visitors
create and add them to this set of
images. A slideshow of the visitor
responses is featured in the exhibition,
which runs from August 8th, 2009 through
January 19th, 2010 in the IMA’s Star
Studio.
Smuggling Daydreams into Reality:
Yesterday, Today and Forever focuses on
a series of short films created by the
2009 Museum Apprentice Program
participants, a group of six high school
students who were mentored by acclaimed
filmmaker Julie Dash. Throughout the
six month program, Dash taught the
students about the use of film as a
visual language and challenged the
students to articulate their visions in
response to the idea of “smuggling”
creative ideas into reality.
