Despi's deskA photo of my boyfriend, John The mountain of coffee it takes to keep me going. The almost-final draft of the new IMA book, "Every Way Possible." Paperwork I should be dealing with. Some people have an inbox, but I have one full of denial. An audio CD with a Type A interview that I REALLY need to listen to. My cool new tokidoki wallpaper. Good art makes me happy. Art by John Matthew Ross, also my boyfriend. Open projects I regularly reference, you'll notice one is TOP SECRET! New projects waiting for file folders...it's like a paper-pushing conga line. My infamous notebook. I always have one of these that I use for EVERYTHING. Right now it is full of notes, paystubs, stickers, drawings from John and all sorts of other things I just can't lose. A robot mug that John designed, I like to drink green tea from it in the afternoons, or sometimes late morning. Green tea and robots are good for you. My wireless mouse. I couldn't live without this little guy...he makes all my IMA New Media magic happen. A thank you card from our intern Emily Lytle. I miss you Emily! Daniel's desk on the other side of that little wall...can you believe he just sits there and stares at me all day. Weird. ![]() ![]() Read the IMA Blog post that explains all this.
This photo has notes. Move your mouse over the photo to see them.

out when he's on the computer. It's
healthier for our marriage!

If only my desk were so tidy! I share my desk with my husband. We have plumbing business and photography business on the desk, plus stuff for the little weekly messages I write for a website. There's an old hard drive on my desk, keys, massive papers, pen, and pencils. I even have a sewing tape measure on my desk! Your desk looks wonderful to me.
Here's some very possible reasons why Daniel is staring at you.
1. His desk is messy and he can't find something he needs. He's hoping you'll come find it for him.
2. He really doesn't want to work and watching someone else work is more interesting.
3. Or he's pondering something totally ridiculous like, "I wonder what that cow ate before it became my hamburger?"
