Creating a New Varnish System

Creating a New Varnish System by IMA - Indianapolis Museum of Art.
Once the surface had been cleaned, a new system of varnish needed to be applied to protect, saturate, and unify the surface of the piece. First a mixture B-67 and 2% beeswax was applied to saturate and protect the surface. This coating protects the surface and ensures that the new varnish would be reversible in the future.
