this past week wasn't a great one ... how bad is it that the creator of the group can't get around to doing the challenge!? two weeks now and i haven't been able to solve my own "these three things" challenge.

but i did get the goober out for a bit of shooting this past week to document his acceptance of the new soccer ball as a replacement of the old, deflated, fraying one. ... and now we have about a foot of snow covering the mud pit that was our yard up until this weekend.

our former, beloved, 7 year old soccer ball has finally hit rock bottom ... with the guts spilling out in the form of long, unraveling nylon strings which catch in merrick's teeth or on his collar. no longer safe, i had to do a little work convincing him that this other ball is actually a decent enough substitute.

at first he couldn't get a bite on it to pick it up, but he's figured it out.

i'm a bum ... i posted the weekly challenge and simply can't manage the time to shoot it right now. i DO intend to do the "these three things" challenge this coming week.

this shot was taken with my little Nikon V1 mirrorless. when i took it the day of matea's surgery -- while merrick and i waited for her to be ready -- i did actually take it with the group in mind, having temporarily forgotten about the challenge.

so this is it for this week ... i promise i'm giong to work on the challenge. really!
