I've admired the ones in Chester Marks & Spencer many times. A nice surprise compared to most coffee shop wall hanging (Starbucks and Coffee Republic are particularly nasty).

I don't understand what goes on with M&S. They must have one switched-on archivist/designer who gets to do something nice every five years or so. A while back they had brilliant T-shirts with a huge old St Michael logo on the front. Then nothing until this ..

But I've been scared off the Brighton M&S café by the brutal, elbowing, table-reserving senior clientele.

Yeah it's not somewhere I normally hang out but my son had walked a long way and would go no further so we needed a seat. I did have a sniff around their website to see if they were doing anything else nice, but like you say, no sign.
