Drummer of Domyak

Drummer of Domyak

Domyak is traditional art from Purwakarta, West Java, that performs procession exposing sounds, then a rite to give offering (sesaji). This art of playing and jokes is also known as Seni Buncis, part of rite to ask for rain to God. Estimately, Domyak had been performed since 1927 in Purwakarta and perhaps had branch to Chinese art, Barongsay.

Translated from Disparbud Jabar Angkat Seni Domyak by Tribun Jabar.
