Interesting plant. Nice dramatic clouds. But the busy foreground, unimaginative angle and uninspiring subject kills this for me.

either one might be spectacular, but the photo isn't -- seems strangely sterile or antiseptic? need to decide which element you're really emphasizing (sky or plant), perhaps shoot from a less straight-on angle if it's the plant, then improve focus/exposure/etc...

I think it's just hard to take pictures of something so vertical and skinny. It just doesn't lend itself to a normally shaped photograph.
