Two tree hill

Two tree hill

A very quick capture as I was leaving work on Friday evening. The sunset never developed as much as it promised. This is another location I have been meaning to try and capture but this time of year is not ideal for the placement of the sun at sunset.

This image is a combination of two exposures, one exposed for the foreground and one exposed for the sky. The two images where combined manually in Photoshop Elements 9 using layers and masks before boosting contrast slightly then resizing and a slight sharpening.

Here is an aerial view of this images location using Flashearth. The link will open in a new window or tab.

Through the barn

Through the barn

On my way up to work yesterday I decided to visit a location I pass every day. This old barn sits close to the side of the road and is easy to access. I really liked the way the low sun was shining through the old window so decided to use this as the main focal point of this image. The area around it is quite open so I think it will be a good location for future visits.

A very quick capture, using my faithful little Canon G9, of a wonderful sunset last Wednesday as I was finishing work.

Into the chasm

Into the chasm

Explore #11 February 19th 2012

This mornings dawn looked promising as I looked out the window. I could hear the sea from the house, so guessed there was going to be some large waves. I decided to head to Rumbling Kern and was greeted by some far bigger waves than I expected. Several times it was a case of grabbing the tripod and camera and running for higher ground!
I really liked the way the water was cascading into this chasm.
