Sakura-chan <3

Sakura-chan <3

Finally, finally, I finally been able to create something that looks like how digital art should be looking *tears drop*. I actually had lot of plans for today but for some reason I didn't feel like doing anything, so I took up drawing again and spent the whole day doing this. Ever since my best friends left, my mood has been down, and I'm back to school next week, which makes it even worse T____T

CLAMP has always been my fav mangaka. I remember when I was young, back in those days when video tape was still in use, me and my brother would run out to the renting shop and bring Sakura back home. We were so addicted to it that our aunt (who usually took care of us while our parents went to work) actually forbided us from watching it. We would wait until she had her lunch nap and sneaked out. One day, it was raining but we still went anyway without anything to cover. And she found out because we were soaking wet after that and we got scolded severely. Later on when I grew up a bit more, I read the comic. Sakura is part of my childhood, my love for this manga never fails, I reread it lthousands of times, but still never get bored with it. And I can't tell you how much CLAMP influences me on my drawing style.

I know many people don't take manga for granted, but they mean a lot to me, that's what I grew up with, they are my childhood friends, and are part of how I am today too ^^ Oi, childhood, how I missed my old happy days T___T

About this drawing, she doesn't look much like Sakura here. Idk, she changed into somebody else when I added the background =.= So yeah, check out the plain BG version if you're interested img821.imageshack.us/img821/7447/sakura2.jpg

Fishing!

Fishing!

One of my doodles at work. I practically had bought myself a whole sketch book just for doodling while working.

Colored on photoshop, turns out so water-color-ie XD Anyway, really like this drawing.I was wondering about whether to color the BG or not, but I did it anyway. So if you want to check out the version with plain BG, plz check here:

I've always wanted to be a children story book illustrator but yeah, I don't want to be cute all the times , guess I don't have a solid style, but yeah, I do wat I like, as long as I can draw, I'm happy, doesn't matter what style it is ^^

I feel like flickr has become my little visual diary. It feels really comfortable here. I can say whatever I like, draw whatever I want, not waiting for comments, fave or judges whether they are good or bad (which I always so with other sites for some reasons +__+). It's just me myself and my drawings ^^~

Vietnamese Girl

Vietnamese Girl

I intended to make this a bit more graphical but I think my manga style got in the way, so she didn't really turn out as I expected. I hate small details these days. You spent lots of effort trying to draw them, but when they are in normal size, they can't be seen at all T^T So I had to crop the drawing. She was supposed in a circle before T^T

This is Vietnamese traditional dress which is called "Ao Dai". It's a beautiful costume, but trust me, wearing it is worse than pain in the ass. Not only is it harder to move around in it, it's also really stiff and hot, imagine you live in a country where the average temperature is 30-35 degrees, you'll see what I mean. And we had to wear it back in highschool every month. School is from 7am - 5pm, we have compulsory nap time too, and wearing that, gosh how did I manage to survive *o*

The details in the background are those that are related my country. My country is surrounded in the sea, so we get to eat fish quite a lot. The truth is when I was young, I hated fishes. But when I came to this country, it's like I can only eat fish twice a year because seafood is so expensive. And you don't know how much pain it causes me +__+

And lotus, can't tell you how lotus means to Vietnamese. It's like the symbol of the whole nation. Vietnamese see themselves as lotus, which is a flower that grows from mud or pond (obviously not very clean), but its beauty still shines brightly and the lovely flower never loses its fragance. That's how Vietnamese think of themselves, this is a very old idea though, like back in the war time, mud and ponds implies at the enemy that invaded my country back then.

One more thing, for some reasons, Vietnamese girls really like long hair (despite the horribly hot weather ;___;). Not me, I love short hair XD XD

So yeah, I put everything down for this. Vietnam, I miss Vietnam so~~~ T__T

Cold Morning ^^~

Cold Morning ^^~

Geez, finally break time. it's been so long since I last drew something >"< This is just something I wanna draw that focus more on the BG rather than people like I always did. Didn't turn out that good though. Composition of the whole pic is really off. And I can't go into details at all, it's the best I could do. I could be more careful when it comes to drawing people, but with background and stuff, I always ended up with the sketchy style. So the only thing that I actually like is their faces (which can't not be seen at all in this size T^T).

So if you wanna check out their [cute] faces, please click here XD

Btw, just a background story for this: They are childhood friends, live next door to each other. He's shy, gentle and madly in love with her, but never has the courage to ask her out. He treasures her too much that he's always afraid that he'll break their friendship if he does so. She likes him too, but is waiting for him to come out of his shell first.

Gosh, so typical shojo story, uncreative me!!!
