blackfriars museum original docs - parchment book piers plowman panel 1
The Blackfriars Theatre that I built in Second Life (and which the SL Shakespeare Company and I now hold live theatrical shows in) was the product of several years of research. Here is a panel from the Blackfriars Museum (under construction), which will attempt to document my research in a generally-accessible format.
Piers Plowman is one of those texts that you read with Chaucer. Interestingly, several pages of the Creed (believed to be authored by someone other than the original Plowman author) describe the not-so-mendicant Blackfriars of London, whose friary seem nigh-too-abundant with spoils of political nepotism. This "posterized" version is done via combining elements to look like a movie-style archaeological display; an original scan of the manuscript published in Wolfe's 1553 - in its original calligraphy is used.
