You're about to get a million views. You're on the Woot blog
That being said, ditto on the what software question and how many cameras are you using simultaneously?

Hey thank you jlavezzo. I was wondering what the eff was happening. Flickr is mailbombing me with notifications but I couldn't see no explicit referent.

One cam is used at a time. I shoot every piece one after another. I gives you time lapse randomness. I got lot of fun doing this :)

It would be great if someone wrote a program that would handle this all by itself. So, if you search for a term in flickr you could get "collages" made up of everyone who took video at a particular place. A useful application would be at concerts... you could get multiple angles from anyone who took video and be able to zoom in/out depending on the footage... Great work, though!

Thank you imsobe.
Your dream is about to come true, soon I guess.
Take a look at Microsoft Photosynth project. It's based on photos, but there's just a few steps to make it work with videos to produce a fully immersive environment.

If I had two camera's filming at the same time in stereo, then I could combine them with this program. That could make some interesting possibilities in post-production.

While cool, this isn't a How-To, it's more of a demo. You need to actually describe how it's done, as many other people have been requesting.

Well netgarou, I really did, but you really missed it.
Anyway, you can learn all of this in the "keyframe animation" chapter of your post production software manual, After Effect, Combustion, Motion, 3DS Max, whatever it is. Google is also your friend to find specific knowledge base.

I would just love the frame stabilization feature. If I could do that to my "home videos" of the kids it would be much better. Is there a special format/camera used in order to be able to process it in this way?

No special format or camera. This kind of stabilization is I guess only handled by quite professional softwares such as Motion or After Effect.

@vincent - no dis intended, it is just that if you have the abilty to shoot stable origionally, then you are covered.

But there are certainly cases where footage needs to be stabilzed for a lot of reasons.

@daniel.mcg : it's okay, I was just kidding on the fact that this technique is indeed technicaly stupid : if you want straight footages, first shoot with a tripod.
I guess my point here is not really to get straigh footages. I want a stabilized image but I also want to see the frame animation. It gives the viewer an indication on how it was shooted (obviously, by hand) plus a stabilized video with sometimes uncontrolled movements or zooms, due to the imperfections of the stabilized process.
It may be a bit geeky, but I find the result amusing.

Thanks for the upload and the mini tutorial! I tried and was a little despairing at first, but it was actually much simpler than I thought it would be. My first attempt was a bit contrived–different angles and one take extremely shaky and it still looks pretty cool.

Vincent-b, I really like your work. But I am having trouble with the fusion part. Where is it at in Motion? I have the program, but can not find a fusion blend. And how exactly did you do it, like drag and drop or what? Thanks.
