Well I'm back from my trip to the French Alps.....we had a great time with stops in Annecy on the way there and Paris on the way back. As you can imagine, I took plenty of photos!
The problem for a change is where to begin :-)
This photo is one of my favourites from the trip even though it's perhaps not the best image quality as it was handheld using a telephoto lens at night (Nikon 70-300vr) although thanks to the inbuilt vibration reduction it turned out sharp enough even at this slow shutter speed.
It's a photo from the fantastic ski resort of Courchevel high up in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,850 meters and shows one of the resort workers heading off home through the snow after a long day at work.......this scene seemed completely extraordinary to me but I guess for him it was just the end of another long day at the office.
Mr Dayglo, bandigy(aka:bandigy-v2.0), and 105 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Hi Mark.....This one got as high as No2 on Explore which was a big surprise.
I'm not sure I've really changed my photography that much although it's true to say that I'm getting a much higher rate of 'keepers' now than I was back when this was taken.
It was one of those lucky breaks that come along every now and then if you keep pressing the shutter button enough :-)

I remember this one. It sticks in your mind. I'm favoriting it. your landscapes are always masterful, but here you've combined it with the frailty of the man. its pretty rare to get both right like this.

Wow.
I am extremely disappointed that not one viewer mentioned the crucial scene in 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. As that was the first thing to pop into my mind when I saw the this.
