Cucumbers in abundance

The five cucumber plants in the greenhouse are producing cucumbers faster than we and our neighbours can eat them, so we have been seeking recipes for cucumber soup.
I'll report on the soup in a comment when we have tried our first batch.

I see GinGirl has a taste for cucumber sandwiches - if she lived locally, I would be asking 'how many cucumbers would you like'?

I did get around to making cucumber soup, and we served it when some of our friends came for dinner - a success. Along with the cucumbers and the chopped spring onions (subject of the next picture in the photostream) the soup had herbs from the garden and some potatoes and veg stock in it. We served it hot. I hope to make another batch soon, and freeze it.
