yesterday...

this is the guy who is talking

So, thanks to DRM it's nearly impossible to make a screen capture from a Mac while the (added: built-in) DVD player is going. So, when I was watching The New Guy ( I know, I know, it's February) I saw this and laughed and wanted to share it.

However, the screen capture software that comes with the Mac won't allow screenshots when the DVD player is running. You get an error message that specifically says so. I had to use my l33t librarian skills to figure out a workaround.

You'd think they'd enjoy this sort of attention, the movie people.

For more on DRM, check out this paper that came out today.

And remember, you can talk about penises on Flickr, but you can't show them to people who aren't your friends and family

That's exactly backwards; I would think the most common use-case (regarding penises) is to want to show penises to everybody but your friends and family.

VLC will allow screenshots of DVD's without any trouble. It also happens to be a great video player.
