oh my god oh my god

oh my god oh my god by jessamyn.
we're getting a CAFE in town, an honest to god CAFE. This is really exciting. They had free samples of their food at the town meeting.

wow! add wifi and you'll be ready to go anywhere from the comfort of your seat!

I was talking to a guy at a local cafe today out at the outskirts of town and he says he comes to the place when he needs internet - he's too far out for DSL and cable and his satellite uplink speed is really slow.

We have a little tech company in town here who could set them up with wifi pretty easily. The town itself is small but it's close enough to the highway so that we all have DSL and cable options in the center of town. There are a few wifi enabled cafes in Randolph (next town over) and I talk to a lot of my students about taking their laptops their to do software updates and upgrades rather than taking up their one phone line. Availability of wifi is really pushing laptops as the better computer choice for new users, in addition to their portability which makes it much easier for someone like me to say "bring it to the cafe and we'll take a look at it"

We have a cafe in my town (pop. 350), too, though I must admit I haven't been yet. Pictures and more when I get my computer back from Apple. . . and get my DSL installed.

No. We can get coffee at the gas station, that's pretty much it.

When we visit the cabin in VT, I'm always painfully aware that the nearest Dunki's is 30 minutes away - at least. There are cafes in town, and I suppose if I was desperate I'd get used to GOOD coffee, but really all I want is DD - I know, blasphemy...
