Signing Ceremony between HE Mr. Keshab Prasad Bhattarai, Secretary of
Science and Technology, Government of Nepal and IAEA Director General
Yukiya Amano for the “Revised Supplementary Agreement concerning the
provision of Technical Assistance by the International Atomic Energy Agency
to the Government of Nepal”. IAEA Headquarters, Vienna, Austria, 21
February 2012
“The “Revised Supplementary Agreement” ,or RSA, is the IAEA Member State’s statement that all activities resulting from the IAEA’s assistance solely serve peaceful purposes and that the facilities involved are subject to safeguards. It is very important that Member States participating in the TC programme have an RSA in place, as these contain essential provisions, including safety standards and measures, peaceful use undertaking and safeguards, physical protection, and the transfer of title to equipment and materials. The RSA also stipulates that technical cooperation projects to be approved by the Board are subject, if needed, to the safeguards provisions.”
