And when my eyes
meet the sunset
I look around me
and I see
the end of the road
I pack my things
and head on down
to twilight's embrace
and take my time
but I will be
home before dark...
For Millan P. Rible. A true friend. A genuine artist. Who continue to inspire and awe us all with his photographic masterpieces.
(Behind-the scene: Walking along the banks of the Potomac River, rushing to catch up with my friends as we head to the parking lot. The glow of light across the waters was just marvelous. I asked them if I could just stop a second and take a couple of shots, which they obliged. As I scanned the marvelous scene in front of me I saw this bird heading towards my line of vision. I propped Lucio and the 70-200mm ~ set on the ready. Scanned through the viewfinder. And then pop pop!! I only managed 2 shots. I wish I set my shutter on continuous exposure. This is the moment when you wanted to kick your self and curse but you are too happy even to have had a chance to snap a couple of shots. :P When I realized it, the bird actually zoomed down on the water, captured a fish, his meal I believe, and zoomed away. All in a matter os milliseconds. Amazing!!!)
*Title inspired by the book written by Susan Cheever in memory of his father, John Cheever.
