Sign of Fortune

Along a street in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. "Alhaji" on the sign is not a name, but a title. It signifies that the man ("Alhaja" would signify a woman) has made a "hajj," or a pilgrimage to Mecca. Such a religious journey is very important to every Muslim.
