Palast der Republik, DDR 1977

Palast der Republik, DDR 1977 by Istvan.
This extraordinary stitching work comes from uniter01, utilizing two previous images taken by me in 1977 for slide (Palast der Republik, Summer 1977 and Palast der Republik with Fernsehturm). I have to admit I am especially grateful for him doing this, and appreciate his work very much: the iconography of this demolished building got a new perspective this way - and I couldn't do this in such a perfect way. So all thanks & praises go for him.

This image is also displayed on the Wikipedia articles on Palast de Republik.

Super and Great. We spend a week in Berlin two years ago our hotel was just behind that tower. We haven't seen that palace in this way, according to me they want to rebuilt it and it was protected by than.

And we haven't seen all these trabants either. I guess times have changed also in Berlin. But this photo is dated from 1977, a lot has changed ever since. Makes this photo ever so beautiful.

The last time we visited Budapest, about 15 years ago, we saw all those trabants all over the place, how is it now?

It has become a very rare car. But some of the new car owners left their mind in their Trabants.

There's a capture in my stream on that hotel, as well, I think; it was called Hotel Stadt Berlin, when I photographed, but you were presumably stay in Inn Park Hotel yet.

Yes, it was just an ordinary hotel, something like ibis or something of the kind. If we ever come to Budapest again I'll like to stay in Gellert,

do I spell this correctly, the most beautiful hotel in Budapest I have ever seen.

Nice picture- the only way you can tell it's stitched is that the beige car standing by itself in the lower right has the front half of a ZAZ and the back half of a Wartburg (Sacrificing performance for trunk space :-) )
