The Spire

The Spire

Pelli's tower spire, topping out at 231 meters, is Milan's new highest point.

The spire is enlighted with LEDs and can change in colour; so far it displayed the greed-white-red pattern to celebrate the Italian 150° anniversary and an all-green to simulate the city's highest Christmas tree.

The Cube - Temporary Restaurant

The Cube - Temporary Restaurant

This temporary restaurant, sponsored by Electrolux and named "The Cube", will remain in Milan until April, before moving to another city (Stockholm).

It sparkled some debate in the city due to its position, in the very heart of the city in piazza Duomo, overlooking the cathedral and on the right side of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. It has been designed by Park Associati, an Italian architecture studio

Porta Nuova

Porta Nuova

The newest skyscrapers completed in Milan, the Porta Nuova Pelli towers (A, B and C), are the most recent addition to our skyline. The three towers (the highest being 146 (roof)/231 (spire) meters high) have been designed by the Argentinian architect Cesar Pelli and, upon completion, will house the new Unicredit Bank headquarters.

The spire, which is a structural element, is enlighted with LEDs and can change in colour; so far it displayed the greed-white-red pattern to celebrate the Italian 150° anniversary and an all-green to simulate the city's highest Christmas tree.

HDR from three different exposures, taken from the cavalcavia Bussa.

Hotel Armani Milano

Hotel Armani Milano

The most recent 5* hotel in Milan, the Hotel Armani Milano is housed in a historical palace from the 1930s and topped by a glass hat with a SPA, restaurant and fitness centre; it opened in 2011 after some years of renovation works.

In the same building you can find a range of Armani's services: the Concept Store, Armani/Nobu restaurant, a fiorist, a cafe, all in the heart of the so-called Quadrilatero della Moda, a group of streets enclosing the fashion district of Milan: via Manzoni, via della Spiga, via Montenapoleone and corso Venezia.

HDR from a single raw file.
