      Funny creatures! Are these really Meerkats? They look different than the ones I've seen on Discovery Channel HD.

      Hi ,

      Yup, they are meerkats, there are a few different subspecies seems like. I'm no expert. Southafricans has this habit of calling anything small and brown with long tail that often runs across the road a meerkat. :o)

      According to the owner of the farm these guys are "Stokstert Meerkat" (Direct translation: Sticktailed Suricate")
